Camelina - Camelina sativa

Description:

Camelina (Brassicaceae family) is a slender annual plant that grows to a height of 1 meter. Native to the Middle East, this oil-yielding plant has been cultivated since Neolithic times and has become a weed that grows among cereals and around the edges of fields. Its small, pear-shaped, dried fruits are filled with tiny reddish seeds.

Traditions:

The oil obtained from the seeds is used in food and has a slightly "cabbagey" taste. Used in balms, camelina oil calms inflammation.

Properties:

Camelina oil is renowned for its nourishing qualities and therefore used in products for dry skin. Its rich Omega-3 content gives it soothing properties.
