Cherry Tree - Prunus cerasus

  • Description
    • The cherry tree (Rosaceae family) is a fruit tree cultivated for its small, sweet, fleshy fruits. It originated in Asia Minor (sour cherry), but today many different varieties exist.
  • Traditions
    • In Japan, the cherry tree is a symbol of integrity, modesty and courtesy. Every spring, millions of Japanese people visit parks filled with cherry trees or travel to the foot of Mount Yoshino to admire the wild cherry trees in flower.
  • Properties
    • L'OCCITANE chose to use the Luberon cherry. The extract obtained is very rich in AHA fruit acids and sugars. It therefore has hydrating properties. We also use it for its softening properties.
