Cade Shaving Soap

My daughter gave me this for Christmas a couple years ago. It is great and lasts a long time. I go far and wide to find it and now I found it on the internet

This is the only soap style shaving lather my husband will use. It lasts him a long time (months), and allows for a nice, close smell-fresh shave. He has tried other brands, but has settled on this. He's military so he shaves every day... except Saturday, and three day weekends. My mother bought him a gift set years ago and I've never seen him purchase another shave soap since. He'll even travel with it- the soap is that special.

My better half recently gave me some very nice shaving accessories which included a custom brush and hand crafted wood shaving bowl. This soap fits the bowl perfectly! As with all my previous mens purchases from L'OCCITANE, this did not disappoint.The soap is outstanding and far better than the soap I received with the bowl originally.

This is the best shaving soap ever. It even beats the shaving soap I got at a shaving specialties store on Saville Row. Ethereally scented, it makes luscious piles of hot lather and give the closest shave obtainable. It fits perfectly snugly in the porcelain shaving bowl I got from Galeries Lafayette.

Until this one, I had yet to find a shaving soap that accomplished my three requirements: 1. It had to have a shea butter base, 2. It had to be triple milled, and 3. It had to have a distinctive woodsy scent. This is a fantastic product that exceeded my expectations. The juniper/cedar scent is simply the best.

I have over 50 different shaving creams and soaps (crazy, I know) and I find Cade Shaving Soap to be one of my top 3 or 4. It's really that great! Let's start with the scent. It's a unique, wonderful juniper scent that no other soap has. Then there's the wonderful lather. Starting with a damp brush, swirl it on the puck for about 45 seconds and then take it to your face, adding a few drops of water every so often until you get a luscious, yogurt-like lather with great cushion and glide!!

I normally don't write reviews but I felt like I needed to counter the previous review which gave a 1 'leaf' rating for this product only because it doesn't fit in her mug even though the product doesn't say that it would. Not how you rate products effectively. This stuff is great. One of the best soaps.

I've been using this shaving soap for 10 years and it is the best shaving experience I've ever had. Worth every penny.

Very nice soap. Takes a little practice to get a good lather, but once you figure it out, the soap is great.

This is an ok shaving soap, especially if you love cedar. I found it a little drying, but I'm prone to dry skin.

The shaving soap is very good and I highly recommend, however the metal bowl is inferior. After some use, the bowl corrodes and leaves metal flakes in the soap and your shaving brush. I have had several bowls and threw one away and just returned another one. The last one corroded in multiple places and even developed a hole in the side of the bowl. They need to remedy this right away!

soap is thin and dries out quickly on face.

Ordinarily I love all things L'OCCITANE but this was a disappointment. Although a good price and quality product, be advised that the cake is much too large to fit in a traditional or antique shaving mug. You would have to place this item on some kind of open or flat soap dish. As product description did not include measurements, I incorrectly assumed it was a traditional shaving soap size.
