Grape Harvest Time in the Sunny Vineyards of Aix-en-Provence...

As the autumn settles over Provence, let’s look back on the grape harvest, which just took place in the Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence winemaking region. Now that the grapes have abandoned the vines, the 501 wine producers of this designation get down to work preparing their next delicious vintages.

The wine of the Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence designation is produced within a sumptuous décor, immortalized in paint by Cézanne. The vineyards of this other Provençal designation regroup 501 producers from 49 different towns and villages, halfway between the departments of the Bouches-du-Rhône and the Var.

Cast away your prejudices! Not just rosé wine is produced here, but also full-bodied, brilliant red wines, and even 5% of airy whites with citrus notes… You’ll discover a complete range of wines from Provence that flatter the palettes of connoisseurs and marry wonderfully with local flavors.

It’s at the end of summer that the now ripe grape is harvested by hand, from the vines over which the last soft and warm light still drifts… Some producers also choose to carry out their harvest under moonlight, to guarantee the optimal quality of their grapes.

In these first days of autumn, the vines forsaken by their fruits take on the first colors of the season, a mix of orange and brown tones. When the sun sets over the Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence in the month of October, the sight is worth the trip.
