Make an Owl in Traditional Holiday Colors for your Christmas Tree !

In terms of ornaments, it's one of the main themes of this Christmas 2013: the forest and its animals. If you want to give a personal touch to your Christmas tree, follow Lise Petermann's instructions to make a fantastic owl in traditional holiday colors, that is to say red and green.

Step 1

You will need:

-Two rectangles of fabric, around 6 x 4 cm

-Another piece of fabric or felt, for the ears

-A piece of fabric cut into a triangle for the beak and one cut into a flared heart for the space around the eyes

-2 beads and 2 sequins for the eyes

-A piece of thick string (here green « rat tail ») for the feet

-String and a needle

-A little bit of coton wool (to stuff the owl).

Start by placing the ears, the heart-shaped fabric and the beak on the rectangle and sew all around the edges of the round heart, so as to fix the beak, the space for the eyes and the ears.

Once you have completed this step, sew the two rectangles together, leaving the bottom seam open. Stuff with cotton through the opening at the bottom of the owl. Place feet into the opening, then sew the opening closed with the feet securely attached in the seam.

Sew a double string on the back so you can hang it in your tree !
