Meet the Designer Audrey Maurel

Creator of the brand Altesse au Maroc, with a studio based in Marrakech, Audrey Maurel has been producing unique, 100% leather, handbag and accessory designs since 2010. It’s a true affair of the heart.
By Justine Fiordelli

Strongly inspired by her “grandmother, who was a collector of handbags and old fabric”, Audrey Maurel has, since 2010, been giving life to a project that felt to her so “obvious”, Altesse au Maroc. For nearly four years, she has been making pretty handbags “designed by women, for women” and made from different colored leathers: red, blue, camel, gold, silver and even lemon yellow or purple. Produced as one-off pieces or in small series, the models have something to suit all tastes and fancies.

Looking for a handbag that is both practical and feminine? Audrey Maurel recommends the “Gaia”, a best-selling model with a “simple form that can be easily carried on your shoulder”. As for the latest models, she suggests the “Tamaya” a handbag with a drawstring, recognizable for its front pocket, which adds a real touch of originality. Curious to discover the world of Altesse au Maroc? See you on July 21 in Paris at the “Carré des Créateurs” showroom, or throughout the year in one of the many sales points located in Marseille and St-Rémy-de-Provence. For online shopping addicts, an e-shop is currently planned.
