My Provence Festival 2013 : a Genuine Springboard for Artists

For the 4th year in a row, the Bouches-du-Rhône Tourist Board has organized the My Provence Festival, a wide-reaching creative competition open to all. This event, a genuine springboard for emerging talent, puts Provence under the spotlight, and this year was included in the Marseille-Provence 2013 European Capital of Culture celebrations.

Set up in 2012 by the Bouches-du-Rhône Tourist Board, My Provence Festival has managed, in just 4 consecutive editions, to make itself a premier place on the arts scene; furthermore the 2013 edition was labeled Marseille-Provence European Capital of Culture.

This festival’s goal is to present the beauty and richness of the Bouches-du-Rhône department, and more generally that of Provence, through the perspective of artists, whether up-and-coming or experienced. Eventually, the aim is to give the most people possible the desire to come and visit this part of the south of France.

This artistic event unfolds in the following way: at the end of each year, the competition opens online and anyone can give free rein to his or her imagination. After some weeks, the names of the winners are revealed and these young artists come to mingle with more experienced artists for an exhibition held in an exceptional venue.

Now that the 2013 edition of the My Provence Festival is closed, the spotlight is placed on the winners’ original artworks via a dedicated website… By turns intriguing, or full of emotion, these creations are breathtaking, now you be the judge...
