Just next to the first and only L’Occitane production site in France, located in the heart of Provence, in Manosque, this museum dedicated to the history of the company can be found. Open since 2011, it goes back over L’Occitane’s incredible success story via many videos with notably contributions from Olivier Baussan, its creator.
Throughout an itinerary that intends to be educational, this museum also allows one to discover the natural raw materials that have inspired the different L’Occitane product ranges since 1976, or admire totally retro old product packaging.
Just like l’Occitane the company, the museum also spotlights small producers of lavender, verbena, immortelle, and all these little pieces of Provence that contribute to the production of important products. Furthermore, all the senses are solicited during the visit, especially smell, thanks to numerous little diffusers letting sweet fragrances escape.
A very interactive museum, that really is the follow-on from the incredible tour of the L’Occitane factory, will definitely please young and old alike. It should not be missed, particularly as entry is free and open to all. The l’Occitane Musuem is also accessible for the disabled and the visually impaired.
