What if we told you that it’s possible to get up close and personal with bears, tigers, lynxes and buffalos in the heart of Provence ? Year-round, over 500 animals, from one hundred different species, populate the La Barben Zoo, located between Aix-en-Provence and Salon de Provence.

This zoo with a zest of Provence provides a genuine voyage of discovery with its mammals, reptiles and birds originating from all around the world, and living for the most part in the open air. For that matter, the La Barben Zoo is committed to the protection of wildlife, both within its natural habitat, and beyond, via technical and financial support. This place that's fun for the whole family is also used to carry out studies on certain species that are difficult to observe in the wild.

To the delight of visitors, every day, you can participate in feeding the animals. During the school holidays in November, children can even help prepare meals for the mammals and the birds. Something that will surely encourage some future vocations.
