The Maeght Foundation Celebrates its 50th Anniversary

Listen up contemporary art lovers and those who want to get acquainted with it : the Maeght Foundation is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary this year. For the occasion, this cultural mecca, founded in 1964, is organising three new exhibitions, to discover without delay!

Inaugurated in Saint-Paul-de-Vence on July 28, 1964 by the famous collectors Aimé and Marguerite Maeght, the Maeght Foundation has seen many famous artists through its doors, such as Joan Miró, Alberto Giacometti and Alexander Calder. Today it celebrates 50 years of existence with an exclusive program organized around three major highlights. A dense and festive program awaits you.

Until June 9, discover the spring exhibition dedicated to the famous Spanish architect Josep Lluís Sert, who designed the Foundation. On the program, documentary films, models and drawings of the buildings, but also a selection of works by artists with whom he collaborated, such as Miro, Calder, Léger, Braque, Chagall, and Giacometti. Plenty of material to help you decipher the mysteries of this cultural mecca. From 28 June to 11 November, the program continues with an exhibition dedicated to works that have marked the history of the Foundation, entitled "Yes my dear Joan, we will create a unique work in the world." And finally, from November 29 to March 2015, the Maeght Foundation presents an exhibition dialoguing between visual and performing arts. Get your diaries out!
