Born from the desire of a young trio of engineers in 2009 to redesign the famous jute soled casual shoe, the brand Zespà soon got noticed. "It's pretty funny to see how far we’ve come over just 6 years of existence: from the initial project around a high-end espadrille to a collection of sneakers, but always with the same idea of offering the perfect product, and great quality," says Jeremy, one of the founding members.
And for good reason, strangers to the world of fashion, the three educated themselves in the workshops of the region. Between a strong identity and artisanal manufacturing, the concept focused on espadrilles for women, privileging simple lines and quality materials, and was an instant success upon arriving in Paris. Initially a "mono-product" brand, when still in its infancy, Zespà rapidly evolved by adapting its style to less seasonal models.
Derbies, oxfords, moccasins and sneakers transformed via the trio’s wild imagination have been an instant hit, right up to renowned Parisian fashion houses, including Carven in 2012. A success crowned with the launch of a men’s collection that continues to earn the label recognition as one of the heavyweights on the French shoe scene.
