Born in Recife, Pernambuco, Joana Lira, who comes from a family of artists, majored in graphic design and is now a prized illustrator. From pottery to sculpture, Joana makes an impression with her bold and lively touch. One of her largest projects was designing the sets and visual identity for Recife’s
traditional street carnival.
Joana lives and breathes Brazilian culture and seeks to represent, in her drawings, local nature as a way of honoring the country. The illustrator signs the visual identity of the Vitória-Régia range for L’Occitane au Brésil, which represents the Amazon in a unique and poetic way.
