Lavender

Lavender was one of the first flowers distilled by Olivier Baussan, the founder of L'OCCITANE. Known in Provence as "blue gold," this plant is an aromatic tribute to the south of France. It is the fragrant soul of the region, the fruit of respectful labor.

L'OCCITANE uses lavender that is sourced from farmers’ cooperatives in Haute-Provence. Our complete collection of Lavender products includes personal and home fragrances as well as bath and body care. Each product soothes the senses, offering a moment of relaxation and well-being.

About P.D.O. Lavender

When traveling through the Provencal region of France rolling fields of lavender are a common sight. Essential oils extracted from the lavender flowers in Haute-Provence are distilled to produce some of our favorite organic L'OCCITANE products. Our lavender bath, body care and home products provide relaxing aromas through natural ingredients.

Since 1981, lavender producers from Haute-Provence have obtained a PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) quality label for their lavender essential oil. This label identifies a very high quality production. L’OCCITANE only uses PDO Lavender essential oil. To obtain the PDO label, essential oil must come up to very strict standards
